For week five, I was given the opportunity to do an internship for a concert. The artist playing at Stage AE was The Mars Volta, which is a type of rock band. Before the concert, I was to give hang up the flyers throughout the whole venue. Since it was an indoor show at Stage AE, I had to do the upstairs and downstairs. Unlike outdoor shows, where flyers need changed outdoors and the bottom level. The flyers are changed to shows that have a similar demographic to The Mars Volta. This is because if a fan is likely listening to the band The Mars Volta, they may be more likely to listen to other bands similar to it. This makes the fan interested in attending another concert for a different show at Stage AE. For example, one flyer that was hung up was the flyer for Dead Poet Society, which is another rock band. During this week I was also able to see what goes into a press release. A press release is the latest and newest announcements that gets sent to Columbus Kemba Live. In the press release, it says who is performing, about the performance, when the performance is, where the performance is, and a bio for the artist or bands. Then a confirmation is needed for the date, pricing, and announcement. To make sure there are not mistakes, the press release has to get sent to the marketing team in Columbus a day before the press release is posted.
